Spring Cleaning #2

Second round! Our ratty old IKEA couch that had been sitting on the landing was first to go. It was taking up space and was an eyesore that the cat had used as a scratching post. It had served its purpose well for over six years but it was time to go. We packed upContinue reading “Spring Cleaning #2”

Easy Leftover Stir-Fry

Do you have leftover meats/proteins? Vegetables that may start to turn? Cooked rice that’s just been sitting in the fridge? Make a stir-fry! I love stir-fries. I probably make at least one every two weeks. They’re easy and you can throw in basically anything that you want. I usually look for leftover vegetables that willContinue reading “Easy Leftover Stir-Fry”

Guest Room: Before/After

I’m super excited y’all! It’s been forever since I’ve seen my parents. They live in NYC so of course we haven’t been able to see them because of the pandemic. Driving to Texas would have taken them about four days, but now that they are vaccinated they have decided to fly down. It’s a riskContinue reading “Guest Room: Before/After”

Farmer’s Market

As my husband and I get ready to head out to do some errands, he suggests we stop at the Farmer’s Market quickly to pick up some honey. “What do you mean just get honey?” I say. In the hubby’s mind, the farmer’s market is the same as a supermarket. You stop in, get whatContinue reading “Farmer’s Market”

Fresh, Dry and Warm

What could I be describing? Bath towels! Brand new ones to be precise. You know you’re getting old when bath towels excite you… While looking around the house, we noticed the ragtag assortment of hand towels, bath towels and face towels, all in an assortment of black, grey, pink and red. Lovely. We had toContinue reading “Fresh, Dry and Warm”

Easy French Ratatouille

The Hubby and I have been binge watching Hell’s Kitchen. You know, the tv show where Gordon Ramsey yells at everyone ( just kidding he does in all his shows)? While we were watching, ratatouille was mentioned and Sam ( the hubs) asked what it was. I said vegetables and he thought I mean aContinue reading “Easy French Ratatouille”

Jab # 1 (COVID Vaccine)

Woot woot! Here in Texas, phase 2 which is the general population for the COVID vaccine, opened up. The exact date was March 29. A very exciting day! I made sure to go online that night and check all of the possible places I could make an appointment. Naturally everyone was doing the same thing!Continue reading “Jab # 1 (COVID Vaccine)”

Spring Cleaning

The hubby and I decided to do a little spring cleaning the other day. And by that, I mean get rid of junk! We cleaned out the attic a bit, pulling down things we haven’t used in several years. A whole set of plate-ware we haven’t touched, old hats, a cat-scratched ottoman and more. ItContinue reading “Spring Cleaning”

Strawberry Rosé Cake

Southern Living Magazine came out with a recipe that I simply couldn’t resist: Strawberry rosé cake. Yes I am supposed to be eating healthier, yes my hubby did give me the side-eye, haha, no it didn’t stop me! It looked and sounded so delicious in the magazine I gave in to it. And you knowContinue reading “Strawberry Rosé Cake”

Two More Lavender Pots Done!

I decorated two more ceramic pots which leaves me with two left to go. The last set of lavender did just fine in the transition and just moved to the backyard this week. Hopefully they will do ok with the new temperature fluctuations and (hopefully) more sun!
