New Home New Struggles

Lest I sound ungrateful I want you to know that my husband and I feel super lucky to have found a house during this crazy time in the housing market. We had to move super quick on our house and bid above other people in order to get our home. We know to even buyContinue reading “New Home New Struggles”

New Home!

Yay! We’ve moved! As anyone knows from moving, it is exhausting, boring, tedious and stressful. We didn’t have a bad move by any means. The movers were polite, efficient and careful so I have no complaints. The thing is, we decided that the smaller items and boxes, we would move ourselves. It ended up savingContinue reading “New Home!”

Goodbye and Hello

I apologize! It’s been quite a while my friends. Things have been a bit chaotic around here. The last time I wrote, it was about moving. We left the first home I ever owned. It has been exciting, but also a little sad. There’s something really nice and comforting about your first home. It servedContinue reading “Goodbye and Hello”

Aloo Out

My hubby, Sam, said to me yesterday afternoon, “get dressed, we’re going somewhere ( I was in my pajamas, don’t judge me).” We ended up at the Indian grocery store. He had very sweetly decided he was going to make me dinner, a new dish we had never tried. Yay! We had a few momentsContinue reading “Aloo Out”

San Antonio

Amazingly, San Antonio is only about 90 minutes away from where I live, and yet in the seven years I have lived in Texas, I have only been there twice. That includes this past weekend. The hubby’s sister and brother-in-law were in town for work so we took a short drive down to visit them.Continue reading “San Antonio”

Times are a Changing

I have been shamefully quiet this past week. The hubby and I have been juggling a lot of balls in the air these last few weeks. One of the big changes that we have been dealing with is selling our house! It is very exciting! Anyone who has moved knows how much work is involved.Continue reading “Times are a Changing”

Rejoining the Gym

Whew! It’s about time! Now that we are vaccinated and we hope other people are too, we have decided to rejoin the gym. I’m still wearing a mask because I feel more comfortable being cautious, especially in a warm, enclosed space with people breathing heavily. There is probably nothing wrong, as the hubby has remindedContinue reading “Rejoining the Gym”

Shoes, Shoes, Shoes!

On the last day of my sister’s visit, we decided to go shoe shopping. Next to the shoe store was a running shop, so the hubby decided to tag along. Big mistake 😂. In the time that it took for Sam to buy two pairs of running sneakers, browse around REI and another store, myContinue reading “Shoes, Shoes, Shoes!”

Esther’s Follies

Esther’s Follies is an institution in Austin. It is sort of like a variety or vaudeville show. The theater is clearly a former storefront with large picture windows and the weirdest/coolest decorations. The show itself is made up of different skits. It is mostly a comedic musical of sorts based on politics and local/national news.Continue reading “Esther’s Follies”

Chinese Food, Yum!

We took my sister out to a Chinese restaurant the other night. No, not take out, and not an overly saucy Americanized version of Chinese food. Incredible and all organic Chinese food in a beautiful setting. We had traditional Shanghai soup dumplings which are amazing ( I am obsessed, but can only make at homeContinue reading “Chinese Food, Yum!”
