Aloo Out

My hubby, Sam, said to me yesterday afternoon, “get dressed, we’re going somewhere ( I was in my pajamas, don’t judge me).” We ended up at the Indian grocery store. He had very sweetly decided he was going to make me dinner, a new dish we had never tried. Yay! We had a few momentsContinue reading “Aloo Out”

Family BBQ

Having my sister around is a perfect excuse to get together with even more family! A first cousin, once removed and her husband live on the opposite end of Austin from us, and another first cousin twice removed recently moved here. Got that? No? Neither did I. Easy Bake Eggs

No oil splashes or burnt food on the stovetop that you just cleaned! I used a quarter ofContinue reading “Easy Bake Eggs”

Smoked Tofu ( and salmon)

Inspired by Hell’s Kitchen, Sam(the hubby) has been working on his presentation with food. He practiced a few times making this meal before making it for my parents. It came out great! Taking it Easy

One of the requests my parents had before they came down was to have time to just sit outside and relax. The hubby spent the day smoking a brisket for dinner, meanwhile my dad made banana pancakes for breakfast. I haven’t had pancakes in forever! Yum! Our plan for the rest of the day wasContinue reading “Taking it Easy”

Smoked Ice

Sounds funny, doesn’t it? It kind of is. But I guess you truly can smoke anything. And the hubby is not one to say “no” to smoking stuff. He considers smoked ice to be a great party addition. With my parents soon to arrive , he decided that we would be remiss as hosts ifContinue reading “Smoked Ice”
