Please welcome the newest additions to my flower family!
All bee and butterfly pollinator plants. I couldn’t help but be(e) drawn to the purple flowers in particular (although I did allow the hubby one choice 😉).
To me it is important to find plants that are a source of food for bees. They help to pollinate about 75 percent of all flowering plants and about 35 percent of all food crops.
Obviously that makes bees very important to our ecosystem, and yet they are in danger of dying out. Not all bees are going extinct at this moment, but changes in environment, loss of habitat and pesticides are just some of the factors that threaten the population as a whole.
So while I enjoy my flowers for their beauty, I appreciate them even more for their ability to feed. Thank you flowers, and thank you bees!
