Despite the fatigue from making my round table runner in macramé, I was still inspired to continue working in the medium.

I think I enjoy keeping my hands busy at night while watching tv. So I decided to try my hand at a wall hanging. I see them in fancy designed homes and always wanted one for myself.

“ 15 DIY Easy Macrame Wall Hangings for Beginners” was perfect for me. I ended up going with #5 XL Layered Macrame Wall Hanging. It was pretty good for the most part, but I had to sort of guess on the length of cord, which came out too short in some instances. I also switched cord half way through because the first one was braided and did not knot well. After I switched to twisted cord it was much easier and looked better. I made it through almost the entire video, but somehow ended up going off on my own at a certain point. I’m not sure why. I guess I just got inspired. I did the steps in the video in a single night, so I really think it is good for beginners like myself. From there I worked on it for several days, adding more cord to fill it out. I had a big open wall behind my bed that screamed for a big piece.
I have to say, I really enjoyed it and look forward to making another one again!
