Ravioli Making

As a present to my husband for Christmas, I got him a gift card to Sur La Table. For those of you who haven’t heard of it, it is a kitchen wares company that also offers cooking classes.

Normally they are a little on the pricey side for classes but they include use of a professional kitchen, all the tools, prep, and ingredients. Since the pandemic, they started offering online classes! You have to buy your own supplies of course but the classes are much cheaper. A win-win in my book. Learn how to cook at home!

Sam (my husband) chose a ravioli making class. It was a great excuse to use the pasta accessory to the Kitchenaid. We had never used it before, so it was an excellent way to learn how to use it. He might also have chosen the class because it was vegetarian ( thank you Sam!).

We had an Italian Chef in Chicago leading the class. It was a large group, but when very smoothly only stopping for questions. We started by making our own pasta, moved on to making our own tomato sauce, and then made a delicious cheese filling.

There were some hiccups along the way and not all the ravioli looked professional, but we started to really get the hang of it in the end. It was a lot of fun, and at the end of the class we had amazing homemade ravioli that we enjoyed over a bottle of wine. What could be better than that?
