That’s right, I said it! I’ve got the best husband in the world so that makes me the luckiest girl in the world. Today I woke up and my husband handed me a sheet of paper. It was a scavenger hunt! Read the clues and then see if you can guess!
For the first clue, I was thinking pollution, parks, and what comes out of my cat’s butt?? He had to prompt me for that one. What was the campaign for? Littering! To the litter box! I found the clue inside the litter container (thankfully not the litter box).
Number two was easy, lol. I knew it was the bathroom.
Number three I thought eggs immediately but then thought about time. It took me a minute to think of runny eggs.
I knew immediately the clue was for my little lavender plants that I’ve killed so many times. But I try and try again!
This one got me. I figured out remotes but there was nothing attached to them so I started pulling out couch cushions ( which clearly need to be vacuumed…) but there was nothing. He tricked me and had put the clue INSIDE the remote where the batteries go!
I read this one and went to our Christmas bin since we’ve been covered in glitter due to decorations. Nope, wasn’t there! Ah, my jewelry armoire!
This one was simple. I love air popped popcorn and he loves how it smells, but hate how it tastes .
I had to think about this one. Part of an elephant? A trunk!! I ran to the car. It was hidden in the trap door ( where tools/wires are. I’m sure that’s not the name of it…).
If you’re naughty, you’ll get coal!! Sam’s ( my husband) great aunt created this beautiful hand made train set that sits under the Christmas tree each year. Inside the train, sits real coal ( he’s from Kentucky, where natural coal can be found right in the ground!)
This one had me fooled. I thought it was Christmas related, so I was thinking reindeer. Nope. Nothing on the reindeer. Couriers?? Oh wait, like real ones? FedEx, UPS. I checked the front door for packages, nothing there. Hmmm. The mailboxes!
For those of you who don’t read Hebrew, that says Menorah. Back to the house to check the menorah!
This one I knew. Tomatoes! I checked the tomato plants but I couldn’t find them anywhere. I picked up the pots and looked at the plates below them. I looked at the plants themselves and the stakes as well. Nothing. I went in to the garage to look for the seeds. Not there. I even checked the tomato sauce, Clamato juice and canned tomato soup. Sam had to give me hints. Back to the tomato plants. I was so close! It was underneath the dish. 🤦♀️
First I checked in the spot where he proposed, which was our landing, but then he reminded me it was the place I said “I do.” Ah. Not what we had in mind, because we had to postpone our wedding and ended up with a Justice of the Peace at our local park on the pier. We went to the park, unfortunately the note was gone. 😕. He had to tell me the next clue, but Sam reprinted it for me.
What bees make is honey. What cows eat is grass. Honey grass? Is this a calendar? Hay! Oops, this is what happens when you ask a city girl. Honey and Hay, my favorite local store!
On to the store! This next clue was read to me by the sales clerk. How late was I? Despite his constant jokes and reminders, I couldn’t remember( I try to block it out) so I had to guess a few times before getting it right. 23. That’s right, I was 23 minutes late for our first date. I wasn’t MIA I swear! I was texting him the whole time so he knew I was coming, but a Friday night after work doesn’t give a girl a lot of time to get ready and parking was hard to find!! After finally guessing correctly I was given a gift card to the store, which I look forward to using in the future.
I have to say, it was so much fun! He decided to just randomly set up a scavenger hunt for me just for fun with a prize at the end. He went to a lot of trouble and made a bunch of great riddles. I was so excited! It was so sweet and I am so thankful to have a partner that does things just to make me happy on a random Wednesday! This guy is a keeper!
Has your partner surprised you with something that you loved?
