Tree Time

It’s that time of year, folks! Thanksgiving is over so now it’s time to start decorating for Christmas! This is a fun pastime that is relatively new to me. I always loved looking at lights and decorations on houses and seeing a tree in the window. As a kid, on Christmas Eve, my family would sometimes drive around neighborhoods that were known for going all out on decorations. I always loved how festive and bright it was, and wondered what it would be like to wake up the next morning with presents under the tree.

Since I met my husband, I too get to decorate a tree and celebrate Christmas. I love the tradition of picking the right tree and then decorating with loved ones. Since we don’t have a fireplace we go to YouTube and get a crackling fire going on the tv and play Christmas music in the background.

I truly enjoy the warmth and love I feel with traditions and family. It’s nice to have something to look forward to each year. Normally we spend two weeks with my husband’s family over Christmas so we don’t get to enjoy our tree in it’s entirety. This year we will be staying home, so we will need to create some new ways to do things.

What traditions do you look forward to this time of the year?
